The Confusion of Artificial Intelligence and Cybernetics
The point at which it got confused was when artificial intelligence in the early 20th century was equated with how the mind worked. The confusion came when we tried to gain respectability for social sciences using physical sciences and cybernetics was one of the groups they wanted credibility from. So you have to go back to what's the work of physical science and you have togo back to the idea of what is science. Science is for us to be able to understand how things work, not non-living science like behaviorism.
