Genes Are More Powerful Heuristic Than Genes, Right?
I find that the genes are much more powerful heuristic when I want to think through a scenario of how should we expect this to play out. When I kind of want to be able to creatively come up with hypothesis about a certain kind of genetic conflict and how it may arise or get resolved. Kind of trying to formalize that hypothesis or insight in some sort of population genetic model, I simply find it much easier to put myself in the shoes of a gene. That's the case where I think it might be the most productive I guess.
