Is CTA a Type of Hedge Fund?
Around 400 billion now is invested in CTA's and probably 4.5 trillion is in the hedge fund universe as a whole. We don't really do cash instruments, although some managers have started doing that in more recent years if that helps you. And Alan, just a question, obviously futures is one way of getting exposure to the market. So futures aren't exchanges, they're centrally cleared, and there's a lot of transparency around pricing and so on. The other side is OTC over the counter, where you have a bilateral deal with a bank often and you worked at banks before.
