When you're optimizing for privacy, this is not like a convex optimization problem. You have to have more people interacting with the system in order to have privacy. And so it's like, oh, I have very good privacy within a very small and in an embedded set. Whereas another set of engineering trade offs might have slightly weaker privacy properties for each individual transaction but then cause the system to be much more useful and have a much larger set of users. So on balance that's actually better. That's what I mean by it's sort of this like very like complex optimization problem.
