The House of Saddam

Saddam Hussein was largely seen as the real power behind the presidency. He built up a vicious security services that targeted his political enemies and regular Iraqi citizens in the 1970s. Saddam soon made war after consolidating his power in Baghdad. On September 22nd, 1980, he ordered his military to invade Iran. At least a million people on both sides perished because of this active aggression.
