The second invasion of britain is not much better than the first. Caesar manages to calm these problems without erupting into a major rebellion. But that winter, some tribes in central gaul who were allied to the romans decided that caesar's attention was elsewhere and that this would be a good time to rebel. They betray the roman legion in the area and slaughter them all, leaving virtually no survivors. This strategy is far more devastating than a formal war could have been.
