ADHD for Women - What Is the DSM-4?
Inattention, anor hyperactivity or impulsivity must be present for at least six months. These symptoms must be present before the age of 12. For an ADHD diagnosis, you must have clear evidence that the symptoms interfere with or reduce the quality of social, academic, or occupational functioning. This is a change from the DSM-4 and it explains the increase that we've been seeing right in ADHD diagnoses.
