Quantum Mechanics - The Double Slit Experiment
The double slit experiment is one of the classic things that scientists ran into when they were develop ingquantu mechanics. It's an experiment where you kind of fire electrons at a too holes, and you look at what happens on the far side of them going through the two little holes. And in the right conditions, it turns out that if you're not watching the particle closely so that it looks like a particle, it'll begin to look like a wave. In our big scale part of the world, things are pretty clearly either one or the other. Nothing is a sort of half way either of them.
