The Jordan Harbinger Show

CHAPTER

Are Dictators 99% of the Time?

The key to the way we think about politics is how many people do you need to keep happy in order to stay in power. Most dictators rely on relatively few people and they're nested, obviously, generally in hierarchies. In dictatorial systems, let's think of North Korea as the archetypal system. It's virtually impossible for them to rise up and bring the leader down. We go to the other extreme, democracies. People are pretty happy and they don't really want to rebel because we get health care,. public education, law and order.
