The History of the Parthenon
Tin was obtained by washing river sediments a bit like gold, a place of gold. It may have been essentially a byproduct of gold exploitation in some places. Lead was added to further reduce the temperature because it was incredibly cheap. The total amount of metal in the statue was probably the order of like 130, 150 tons.
