Radioactive Waste From Nuclear Power Plants
Nuclear reactors use radioactive material like uranium for fuel. Once the process is finished, there's still a lot of radioactive stuff left over. The question becomes one of figuring out how to store this material as safely as possible. There have been plans to develop such a facility at yucca mountain, nevada but so far it has not been politically feasible.
