Bushby's Interest in Serial Killers

During the trial Bushby gave the impression of being very much in control. He didn't give a real reason for killing Katie, sticking to his alibi and continuing to insist he was innocent. Was it something specifically about Katie or was she just unlucky enough to cross paths with such a dangerous man as Bushby? During the trials some disturbing facts emerge which pointed to a sexual motive.
