One of the analogies I really like from that book is thinking about humanity as something like a kind of a person who is presumably quite early on in their life. Maybe they've done some things already which they have come to regret. And even though in some sense you can't reverse certain kinds of harms, maybe the best thing to do is really just to get your right together and do as much good going forwards as you can. So if the analogy carries over then that makes a lot of sense to me.
