A Brief History of Journalism

Before the invention of the printing press in 14 forty, there was a very different concept of news. In europe, you might hear information at a church service from a priest or town crier. Oye oye actually derives from the old norman word for to listen. A little bit of slightly pointless, but quite interesting vocabulary is that the way a town crier would announce their presence in english is by saying, hear ye oya oye oye.
