The idea that slavery was a bad thing was around at the time the us Constitution was ratified. It wasn't until the civil war that it was abolished. The animal rights movement has had, let's say, incomplete success over the last forty years. I'm not even sure it's evidence at all, given the acrity with which movements ar move once they start. Yettheyre just aren't enough people, kind o at every level of willingness to speak up that they can create a full blown avalanche.
