In 11 93, a military slave captured the small regional capital of deli. He tasked his generals with taking more territory. In doing so, mohammed huri laid the foundation for the moslem kingdom. The sources are surprisingly thin on any kind of religious conflict between the moslem rulers and their hindu subjects. Pockets of resistance seem to have been most fierce among tribal people living in remote areas. But in the cities, there is little evidence of uprisings. While many hindus no doubt greatly resented their new moslem rulers, others simply go on with their lives.
