How to Read a Technical Manual

In the atrandum parley, one of the big topics was how to read a programming books. The first thing i do is kind of get an overall familiarity with it. And then i'll actually go through and do at, you know, thorough pageby page read. It's not be that i need the automations before I can program it or anything like that. It's the process of working through the little details like that that gets me to the point where i'm comfortable writing something.
