Are You a Tudor Mother?
I wonder how much before they went into confinement, Tudor mothers were talking to their friends who were to be godmothers. I think the matters of sex and birth are much more freely discussed in the 16th century. This inherited knowledge and your mother has done it and applies to you how it's to be done. And you've probably grown up knowing roughly about it as well. They're much less protective about sexual matters than people became later on in the 19th century.
