The Problem With Semantics Is That It's Not Uniquely Determined

Most of the problems with all of these discussions especially when it comes to like strong AI or general AI boil down to intelligence being ill-defined in the first place. We can look at the problem still from the view of semantics because that oftentimes gives you better results. The big problem with just looking at syntactic part is that the syntax does not uniquely determine the semantics for a data type such as natural numbers. In practice we want to go and write down a certain term like e equals one half m times v squared and then say well we don't only want to have this term just stand there but we want to do computations with them.
