The Importance of Investing in a Business

Alan and Miriam Helmick opened a ballroom dance studio in Grand Junction, Colorado. They also bought a 40-acre property with the idea of starting a horse breeding business. Friends thought it was odd that Alan would get involved in such a risky startup but they shrugged it off as an investment in a new bride. On June 10th, 2008, the local news carried the story of an apparent robbery homicide out in their neighborhood.
