Can We Predict Out the Age of the Cell Population?

We measure DNA methylation, which is just one form of an epigenetic modification. It takes place at these what are called CPG genucleotides. And for instance, you might have a sample from a 20 year old where you have 90% methylation here. Then by the time you look at 80 year olds, you'll have on average 60%. You'll have others that actually increase or become more on what we call hypermethylated with aging. So perhaps 5% in a young individual and this goes at 45%. These two are kind of what we consider epigenetic drift. But we also see sites that change away from the mean.
