Camelina Seeds - The Future of the Food Industry
Called camelina, the oil seed has enormous promise as a cover crop. It can be used to produce sustainable, low carbon, new materials and open up new market opportunities for farmers. The company started working to transfer biology that's needed to produce these bioplastics fom micro organisms into camelina seeds 10 years ago. But fundamentally we feel we're not gong the pat to commercialize it. And coinciding with all this is the whole carbon economy, nutrient pollution.
