LH #69 Does Workflow Learning Work? with David James

The Learning Hack podcast

CHAPTER

What Is the Definition of Learning in the Flow of Work?

Workflow learning is an approach that leans heavily on performance support. Nick Shackleton Jones' interpretation of this, which is useful in the context of what people are trying to do at the time they're trying to do it should eliminate learning. We only need to learn something really when there's a gap between the exposure to content and application. This speaks to the L&D profession, one that recognises learning as perhaps the main tool in our toolkit. If I was going to rebrand this and still speak to L&D, I would call this L&D in the flow of work. It doesn't actually speak to the people we seek into influence.
