Binaural beats are an auditory illusion that is created by playing two slightly different frequencies in each ear through headphones or earbuds. The brain perceives a third frequency, the difference between the two, which can promote relaxation, focus or creativity depending on the frequency used. Studies have shown that binaural beats can influence brainwave activity by enhancing sustained attention and cognitive flexibility. It's actually when you listen to it, it feels really subtle. I'll often do this when I'm studying or when I want to drop into a super focused creative mode - there are all sorts of ways to access it.
We live in a world of near-constant distraction, making it harder and harder to focus, to be present and attentive in the activities, goals, pursuit and even relationships that mean the most to us.
