Liveness is writing in relation to Locke, who I've already mentioned. One important thing that Locke states is that there is nothing in the intellect which was not first in the senses. Here we see another little piece of Kantian coming through,. Kantianism coming through. There can't be this overarching objective framework. We sense everything before it's made intelligible. It's a representation of reality and not real true reality itself.
