The partition of the country had significant bearing on the way the indian nation was being defined. The decision to declare as the national language by pakistan could have been in accordance with the perception of the leaders that urdu and moslems were qo terminous. Only part of pakistan which might have objected to it could be the bangla speaking section. For us coming from the south, to go back and face our people with any decision youare going to make here, you'll see what it will mean. It probably means life and death for people of the south unless it is going to be handled in the way in which it ought to be done.
