In fantasy, the great magicians have magic power. The more powerful they are, the longer the spell lasts. If i have a million dollars, i can do it a year. If i've a billion dollars,. i can allocate ten % of my power to do it there forever. That's impressive magic less but less interesting and more practical is, i just want to cast the spell while i'm alive. It doesn't matter if you don't have two hundrd, 50 thousand. You get enough money, you can snap your fingers, materialize a jet that'll fly you to tokio on ten hours for about 250000 dollars. I just sucked their life force out
