How Do People Think About Algorithms?
In the work before leading up to the book, you would try to communicate to people this sense of the algorithm not really doing something new, but returning to older methods. I think a lot of people had a sense that they knew already, right? They like read a New York Times article and they're like, I know exactly what these guys think. And so I just said, maybe we don't. Maybe we don't know what they think. Maybe we need to go talk to them. You'll find out that they think some weird stuff that you didn't expect that they thought necessarily.
