The Gospel of Thomas' Interpretation of a Parable
Mark is at least a generation removed from Jesus' lifetime because things like this interpretation of a parable have grown up, right, and crusted around the stories. On the other hand, it can't be way more than a generation later because it's used by Matthew and Luke Acts as a source. The fact that it's so close to Paul's language and outlook also suggests it's not that far away from Paul. And then I would like to draw your attention to this very cute passage in Mark 15.
