The Cost of Scrapping Older Airbus Airplanes

Alaska retired most of Virgin America's aircraft 53 A320s and 10 A319s. American with almost a thousand planes can have a big fleet of Airbus and AeroBodies but Alaska is just not big enough to do that. I'll be surprised if those Alaska airplanes sit for very long since they'd be great fodder for a startup or for others.
