We always think about people pleasing in terms of the outcome. And essentially what you're saying is that somebody can do something that was good and it can be people pleasing for that person. But if they have a hidden agenda, guess what? That's not giving. We also go around giving because it's like our version of giving incidentally. This makes so many people feel uncomfortable as we like to see ourselves as kind and generous and benevolentpeople.
