Spotify's Gender Reinforcing Algorithm
The idea of DIY independence seems so counter to how Spotify works like and I know one of the things for new models is why we were so key on having this what people call Brutalist website. We wanted it to be totally transparent that there are humans behind this you know when we get into the idea the algorithm they're not politically neutral but algorithms actually do have politics especially at scale. It's completely just upholding like the status quo of how the music industry has always been which is still super male dominated.
