Patrick's Mission in Ireland
Patrick was not the first Christian in Ireland, but he was the first one we know about to go to the northern part of the island. He concentrates on the idea of a single creator God, and preaches a credo of love and grace. But not all his fellow bishops back in Britain are fully supportive of his efforts. Elsewhere in Europe, the church is ripping itself apart with esoteric doctrinal debates such as whether Jesus should be regarded as human or divine.
