You can integrate with any piece of hardware so GPS, Bluetooth beacon data NFC data and bind to the return data packet whether it's XML, JSON, or a URL in the case of NFC. Braden created a tutorial of how to serve the config files and your templates from a GitHub repo. So you don't even need a server to create an FML app on the iOS store.
