The Beginning of the Book of the Lamentations of Jeremiah

The Lamentations of Jeremiah are written in an alphabetic acrostic style. This is where every verse essentially starts with another letter of the Hebrew alphabet. The theory is that maybe one of the reasons why Jeremiah chose this type of writing was to give himself some constraints because or else he would just kind of bleed all over the page with his grief and agony.
