The Importance of Sharing War Experience
The thing that bonds these guys together is first of all their war experience. Second of all they're wounding. They have sacrificed in the Sun also rises there's that wonderful phrase by Brett Ashley where she says about Count Mippy Populis he's one of us. And that's all she needs to say. What that really means is he gets it he gets it. The count has been to war Brett has been to War Jake Barnes has been towar so there's sort of an understanding It sort of gives them an outlook on life that they share. Right and the we felt held together by there being something that had happened that they the people who disliked us did not understand.
