There is no evidence that an active recovery session makes you perform better the next day in a high intensity session. Any movement creates blood flow, and blood flow carries oxygen. Oxygen repairs damaged muscles. So there's a reason why we would want to move,. Whether it's going for a walk, whetherit's going for an easy jog, or spinning the bike at 50, 60 whats, hundred whats, whatever. Just movement so that you're getting blood flow. That's not trying to do anything but recover. The other thing is, before my big event or my hard session, i want to feel good the next day. Sor none of those reasons are improving my fitness.
