Franklin: What evidence could there be for a multiverse, Bill? Can we witness any of these other universes, or? No, not directly. The best hope would be that there would be some sort of indication in our universe that it has somehow causally interacted with one ofthese other universes. This tends to be metaphysics rather than physics,. But you see, as a metaphysician, I think I need to take them seriously. Frankly, the naturalistic, multiverse metaphysical hypothesis leads to utter skepticism about our sensory knowledge of the external world and therefore is a disaster.
