Exercise is hands down the most important drug, if you're going to call it that intervention as it comes to preserving cognitive performance. So just like my muscle function today is not as good as it was when I was 20, so too is my cognitive function. All of these things at the cellular level don't work as well. And are there things that can be done to mitigate that? The big ones are exercise and strength training.
