How to Subdue Negative Feelings

The idea would be to instead of, you know, eating to try to subdue those feelings, just to allow yourself to feel them or even try to keep them as high as possible for as long as possible. And then stick in that. If it takes two or three hours, it'll be two or three painful hours before the feelings lose their sting or they might diminish and disappear - little as two or three or four minutes. It's hard to predict how long it will be. But to record that on a piece of paper, say the average between zero to 100 intensity, these negative feelings every minute or two. Right?
