The Importance of Mental Models in Emergency Medicine

I think when it comes to patients especially in like the ems or emergency medicine setting You know, you don't really have a lot of time before you're making a big decision about what you want to do for you. I've certainly gotten burned on these mental models and that's how I got into learning more about this. Nobody talks enough about how you think and really your brain is the tool that you use more than anything else on a shift in the ambulance. So we really got to make EMS providers and make health care professionals Just experts in the brain and experts in how the brain works so that they know when it when it's going to go wrong.
