I believe in gaining a wide array of UX design skills because it gives you a strong foundation as a designer. One of the challenges I've seen with people who come into the field and they jump right into a specialty is that they don't have that well-rounded base. So what I tell early career designers is to get a position that's a generalist position where you're doing all sorts of different things, not only to build your skills but also to learn what you're interested in.

Jessica Ivins schools us on the critical value of a growth mindset in UX Design. She teaches us how to learn how to learn. She enlightens us as to why it’s always better to generalize before specializing. She reminds us introverts that we can only truly succeed by extroverting.
