San francisco created its own version of the local density bonus. The only reason developers take it is because the city has made it hard to take the statedensity onist programme. In san diego, i see an attitude in some places that likea a density bonus program, is because we want subsidie affordable homes and the market rate portion is just because we have to. Whereas i think the approach in san diego is like, no, thice is great. We want both more market rate homes and more affordable housing. So we're really winning on both sides of this deal.
