The Only Thing That Frees Us From Sham Is the Love of God

We get free of our shame when we allow ourselves to be found by God and we come out into the open, even carrying with you the stuff that might be associated with your shame. What is happening in the story that we read is her response to something that she's already experienced. We don't know how it is or where or what specific thing in Jesus' ministry that this woman encountered. The text doesn't tell us what was so transformational about her encounter with Jesus. But this is a story of her response to the forgiveness. Your sins have been forgiven. This is what the woman knew. And this is how she got into the room. She’s no longer hiding.
