The Importance of Fish Consumption
If you pay for eggs or chicken meat, it's probable that there will be more chickens alive as a result of the fact that you're buying them and paying someone to raise them. If you catch fish from the sea, it's not obvious that that causes there to be more fish. In fact, it seems like the opposite is more likely, but there will be fewer fish. And so then you have to evaluate, at least from a total utilitarian point of view, whether a fish's life in the sea, the fish that you're eating, is better or worse than nothing. I think most of these things are far, far less important than what you decide to do with your career
