Detective Smith faced an uphill battle to put together a case that the DA would deem air tight enough to bring to court. In her interview with Jordan Chandler, Detective Smith asked him whether there were any unusual birthmarks or other distinct visuals on Michael's body. The search took place at Neverland Ranch on December 20th, 1993. A key part of the reason why Michael agreed to come back was that his lawyers allegedly made a deal that he would not be indicted once he returned.
