The Hunt of Melkor

The wise declare that Melkor ever watchful was first aware of the weight of the awakening of the quendy and sent shadows and evil spirits to spy upon them. So it came to pass some years air, the coming of ormay that if any of the elves straight far abroad alone or few together, they would often vanish and never return. The quendy said that the hunter had caught them and they were afraid. And so he plants these tales of this hunter that is coming to get them. When in reality, it is Melkor who is, who is snatching them out of the darkness as we're going to see next paragraph.
