The Importance of Rational Discourse
The individual is indivisible. So it's the right constant unit of measurement when we're talking about things economic. A New York Times essay in 2017 referred to this favored fifth at the top of the income distribution as having collected since 1979, a far greater amount of income than others. This can only be called economic illiteracy on the part of the Times. And again, it's incumbent upon us to be accurate and think about what is actually being said.
