As other objects fall into the black hole, they accelerate and produce x-rays and even gamma rays. The rest of the universe now only looks like a circle of distant light that is rapidly fading. Any attempt to move away from the black hole would actually bring me closer towards the center as we enter the singularity. If you subscribe to the theory that black holes do not destroy information, there might be a way of it coming back out.
