We need to recalibrate how we think about these things and then apply that mentality to how we're thinking about AI. I wrote a book called What Technology Wants, which was primarily trying to ask this question of what are the general directions in the evolution of technology? And just as a spoiler, my theory of technology is that it's an extension of the same forces that run through evolution in life. The same self-organizing forces are working through evolution. So these are all these space of all possible things that you need to have a mind help you make.
